Are Tech Stocks a Good Play?

Is this a good time to invest in tech stocks? Not long ago an acquaintance of mine told me that he bought a bunch of tech-stocks and he told me he'd been watching the charts and that he believed technology-stocks were starting to run, of course, by the time he told me this they were already up and had already run their course.

Apparently, they had an uptick in the prior three or four days of nearly 10%. That's a pretty big move in the sector in a very short amount of time. Technology stocks are often quite volatile, and many of the larger tech-stocks like Intel, HP, Apple, AMD, Applied Materials, Cisco, and others have reported decent quarterly profits recently.

However, there were also many tech stocks that have not yet reported. Two days later Microsoft came in with a 30% decrease in profits, which sent all the technology stocks back down a tad. I asked my friend; "Why didn't you just buy the QQQQ or XLK?"

He gave me some song and dance about a special computer software program that had lots of mathematics and charts and showed that it was better to buy those stocks that he bought. Still, they all fell the next day, as other computer technology stocks reported their earnings or lack thereof.

How much further are the techs gonna to run,

And for how long after the Eclipse of the Sun?

Might be a good long term play, it's hard to say?

They surely did good today and if you were already in hip, hip Hooray!

Would have been better to buy prior to May?

But what do I know, I'm only Lance Ray
