Excuse of Flash Adobe before: If you want to save power, do not enable on your machine

Adobe Flash is attacked again. And you know what that means. More time to complain.

Today, CTO Kevin Lynch Adobe spoke with Fast Company the most recent Flash controversy that the company has had to deal with. Last week, a report showed that the absence of Flash on the new MacBook air can save as much as 2 hours in the life of the battery on this machine.Several reports noted that identical or similar things. Response by Lynch?"This is a false argument to make, use energy .lorsque you are displaying the contents, any technology will use more power to display, versus does not display the contents."

To display the content uses more power than do not display the contents? this is really the argument it uses? Why not say: If your computer is turned on, it will use more power if it is not?

But the real question here is not really use Flash to display content. It is that when Flash is only running in the background on the websites, it is biting off the coast of a huge chunk of the life of the battery - up to 33%. This is ridiculous.

Lynch has continued, "If you've used HTML5, for example, to display advertisements, which would use as processing power as otherwise more that that Flash uses." This is a pretty bold claim. Conveniently (probably for Lynch), it is also quite impossible test since very few web ads currently use HTML5.

The fact of the matter remains that various reports show the problem of life Flash/battery to be very real. If you are simply the Flash installed on your machine, you'll see much better battery. I have not any comparison thoroughly, but so far, when you use Safari versus chromium (which has a version of Flash baked - in) on MacBook Air, I noticed that in the life of the battery and a bump.In addition, the Flash is the only thing that never makes this computer to run even a little warm.

This surprise me hardly like who was quite the case on every Mac I owned in the past few years. On my iMac i7 with 8 GB of RAM, Adobe Photoshop runs fine.Light made video? no problem. Flash? coup franc fans on and gets hot machine as hell.

Of course, you can assert that the issue is at least partially Apple fault as hardware acceleration is not as easy to find on the Mac.But this does not change the real question that Lynch calls a "false"argument points more, none of this even replied that for most of us, the only time that something hangs still on our machines is due to Flash.

Adobe has had many years to solve these problems. Now that the dependence of the Flash web site is drying, Adobe is using bizarre gadgets (such as their campaign of stupid "ad"), complain and some ICS.

"I think that there is this negative campaign going, and for some reason, Apple is really choose encourage it and endorse," Lynch says Fast Company. But this issue of the battery life has absolutely nothing to do with Apple.Le site Ars Technica bute against the issue in their review of new MacBook Air.Apple did not say a word about it.

"I think it's malheureux.Nous do not think that it is good for the website of closed off areas - a blocking of certain types of expression," continued Lynch.Ah, former "opens" argument.lorsque all fails… ".

In this context is simply ridicule.Vous can always install Flash on any Mac - including air MacBook.Le real problem in this particular case is that you are probably if you value a stable system and battery life.

Yet again, this reply Adobe seems to be: If you want to save the life of the battery, do not turn onto your machine.
