In collaboration with Developer Conference company, PayPal has announced a series of news and product releases this week, including a new product of micropayments and an application platform for enterprises. But nestled in a press release was another piece of news from PayPal potentially enormous. PayPal has just released a new version of its popular iPhone application that allows users to find businesses near immediate location who accept PayPal as a form of payment. Launch of San Francisco at the outset, the feature encourages merchants to draw near to clients in their stores displaying the application as an incentive for customers to visit their corporate promotions and offers.

Customers can search by category, location and find and selected stores, services or offers spéciales.Les users can pick up the goods or services in person, but pay the merchant in their APP PayPal users can also use tags to Bling Nation, a startup that has established a partnership with PayPal mobile payment starting chip allows to deduct funds from a PayPal account.

A large around using PayPal merchant outlets is the ability to offer treats it as an incentive to buyers drive to a store or restaurant. Whether resembling General day-to-day transactions or just ordinary coupons, there is no doubt that processes help drive online sales for offline.

A large around using PayPal merchant outlets is the ability to offer treats it as an incentive to buyers drive to a store or restaurant. Whether resembling General day-to-day transactions or just ordinary coupons, there is no doubt that processes help drive online sales for offline.

President of PayPal Scott Thompson says TechCrunch (see video below) that finally the local feature will be "Ubiquity," which means that you can access these lists of merchants and pay with PayPal, where you are in the world.Local is one of the key elements of the future strategy of PayPal, says Thompson.Il believes that a world becoming more connected, eventually all local merchants accept PayPal as a payment for purchases in the store option.

For PayPal, local payments certainly makes sense. Online sales outside connection is a large part of the local trade and if PayPal can become a mechanism for payments in the local market, it could pay off the coast of revenue for the company.

A competitor to note in the local space of payments is Google Checkout. While Google CheckOut is not a broad scope such as PayPal, Google Checkout has an ACE in the hole when it comes to Google sites.Google sites allows local claim and edit a page, post real-time business updates (e.g., "happy hour tonight"), telephones, create a custom and same QR code offer coupons. Google indexes and highlights these pages in the results of research, most recently launched a placement more integrated top sites for the search on Google.

Google could easily turn on a transaction (for example, a daily dose) for these merchants and use Google
Extraction as a payment mechanism. The same experience may extend to mobile phones.

Advantage that Google has about PayPal is that, with seats, these relationships with local merchants are already integrated business search giants. At the last count a few months ago, Google had places pages in place for the business of 4 million, but I am sure that this number is higher o.d. ' other PayPal will be to forge new relationships with these companies local to bring in their payments platform. Not only do they have find businesses, but teach them to use their mobile applications as a mechanism for payment PayPal.Mise across local PayPal feature will be a huge effort for the company, that is why PayPal is testing the feature off in a market in San Francisco.

This why it makes sense to PayPal to form partnerships on his local.Google effort is an unlikely partner, given that the company already has its own paiements.Lieux Facebook platform could be a potential partner (PayPal is already a partner of micropayments for virtual network currency social platform credits) .Facebook is supposedly to turn on a feature site transaction and PayPal could be a way to deal with these General paiements.Et is supposedly to be brokerage agreement payments with PayPal as well.

While Google Checkout still does not have the kind of number of users that PayPal in the field of payments, Google has therefore in terms of locaux.locaux war chest much more at affordable, the battle between the two much more interesting only obtained payment platform.

The future of local trade = Facebook + Yelp Foursquare + General

Editor's note: the following guest post is by David Marcus, founder and CEO of Zong, a provider of funds hundreds of major mobile applications and destination sites and Facebook, AT & T mobile payment

It has been much hype, mad assessments and comprehensive market enthusiasm on companies who promise to release the power of the social graph, location, recommendations and group purchasing. Most recent evaluation of Facebook according to SecondMarket is now about $30 billion, while still at a stage of young, Yelp, sell for $550 million to Google, fired over 25 million to evaluation disclosed but very high, and finally General raised $135 million to $ 1.35 billion exorbitant sum evaluation Foursquare has raised $20 million to a post-money 115 million dollars.donc outside of their huge success with the community of investors and their users evaluation, that these companies have in common, and what does all this have to do with the disrupt local trade?

In an August TechCrunch guest post, Alex Rampell describes how trade Online2Offline is an opportunity of dollar potential trillion. The bottom line is that we spend most of our income available offline, in the shops, restaurants and shopping malls. But companies such as General, debt of State and other startups selling buying groups and private changing the flow of money.Buy online people and buy out connexion.Mais is only the beginning of a brewing storm that will change the way which discover us, shop and pay for things. Let's focus on the main function of each of these different started providing to understand how bringing them together will be ultimately disrupt several trillion dollars industries:

Facebook: provides the social graph, which is becoming a utility. Thanks to its open platform and API, we share more on our lives and in our interactions online and on mobile day.Foursquare and Gowalla: provide localization services and checkins, accompanied by mechanical game that motivate users to unlock the badges, earn some mayoralties and get discounts at stores in the process.Yelp: provides assessments of the crowdsourced business locales.Maintenant also provides check-ins and offers.groupon: provides offers discounts on a promise to increase sales and attract new customers with local businesses.

The interesting thing here is that there is much overlap in the functionality offered by these companies. Recently, Facebook has launched sites, mobile geolocation service that mimics Foursquare local check-insurance Yelp also added checkins and implemented recently to Japper Deals, a General clone.

Considering that local trade will be especially mobile, one of these companies still must meet all of these features with a simple click payments (IMHO), really tap into the potential of these revolutionary technologies. In my mind, the ultimate product combines all these features in a mobile application. A user can launch the application, see what special contracts are in the region (location + group purchasing), which his friends already purchased coupon/article (social graph), local reviews of friends (social graph + reviews), and then she could buy coupon wished in her apparatus clicking. She could walk in local businesses with a code reduction, code bar, or perhaps at some point in the future, enabled RFID label and cash that she had to buy.

All these companies, with the exception of Yelp, are at an early stage of their development in this area.Places of Facebook is absent of Foursquare, game mechanics reviews of Yelp, and local deals General.Carrément is missing scale in its offer of discounts.Yelp is missing the social scope of the chart and integrated payments.General is missing from the main functions of social graph that give better relevance by social shopping.

So, which one of these companies succeed in releasing the power of the local business by combining the good set of features in the appropriate field sales force? it's my bet on Facebook to be the premier.Ils have large advertising sales organization that could affect local companies, are already supposed to be offers on-site tests they are in fact more distribution and social graph access no matter which of the other companies, and finally they built a true payments platform.

General and Yelp also have a decent shot, but it will be difficult to compete with distribution channels and the ubiquity of Facebook.afin remain relevant, they will have to innovate and to propose originales.Du block future features will likely be more difficult with players enter their space, but it could end up being purchased (once again for the founder Dennis Crowley) by Google, which is poised to aggressively go after the possibility of local trade.

Milo has produced local mobile search with Android application inventory

Milo, a startup which highlights local brick and mortar in product search results stores inventory takes its mobile platform today with the publication of a tracks Milo.com app free Android real time availability and prices of products of more than 3 million to more than 50,000 stores across United States, including target, Macy, Best Buy, body & barrel and much more.

Using phone geolocation of the Android application define location and in real-time on results returned a user to the availability of a product in stores in the region. Users will be able to access, where the stores are located and how price compares to other stores in a given region. So if I sought a juicer in Palo Alto, Milo returns the device availability in stores nearby, including target, Macy and fund & barrel .the ' application will also give driving me directions to local shops.

Milo has a site optimized for smartphones HTML5, is the first native application launched by it démarrage.Dans all the honestly, I think that Milo service could become even more popular on mobile phones than on the web.The idea that I can just find a local availability on inch or so that I am at the store from a competitor is incredibly attractive.

And it is no coincidence that Milo launches as shopping season of the year of Milo Jack Abraham fêtes.Cofondateur ramps told me that he hoped that the application to hugely popular among users, especially consumers use application for live price comparisons.

Abraham said that a similar application for the iPhone will also be published shortly. As to why he started on Android first of all, he said that the process of developing an application for the Android platform is simply easier.

Of course, there is also another factor to be considered for relocation of the Milo to publish first on Android.Google has recently launched a similar feature, called Blue point on Google mobile search by product, similar to Milo, Blue point allows users within research see if a product is in stock in the stores of proximité.Mais as Milo countered, Google does not have the scope of the inventory was Milo.Milo has recently launched an agreement with the Pricegrabber to show local shopping site comparative inventory in the results of research.

Earlier this year, Forrester reported that "research online, buy offline" consumer market represents 917 billion in consumer spending was 30 per cent of all retail U.S. at the time sales market .This is important and if Milo can develop a SkypeOut faithful on mobile applications, it can take a piece of a fairly large pie.
